A MULTIdisciplinary approach to decipher the first step of aroma MIXture perception. – MULTIMIX
Odors that we detect in our environment result from the perception of mixtures of odorants. Several of these mixtures can lead to a homogeneous percept: odor blending or masking by one component.<br />MULTIMIX aims to identify the biological, molecular and sensory characteristics of odorants that contribute to a homogeneous percept. It will provide keys for the improvement of the flavoring of foods formulated according to nutritional recommendations.
Cavity-enhanced optical frequency comb spectroscopy for astrophysics – CECoSA
The aim of the CECoSA project is to combine cavity-enhanced spectroscopy based on optical frequency combs with uniform supersonic flows and time-resolved detection to detect the spectral signatures of molecules and radicals at low temperatures
Positrons and Charge Carrier Trapping Centers in Halide Perovskites – TRAPPER
A critical challenge in perovskite application to photovoltaic (PV) is the stability of high PV performance during PV device operation and its dependence with environment.
Dual Feedback Streams and Laminar integration of Long-range Inter-areal Processes in Primate Cortex – Dual_Streams
Distinguishing the unknown roles of two feedback pathways that have been identified in the inter-areal projections of primate cerebral cortex. We aim to probe these by studying layer-specific activity in early visual areas during cognitive tasks requiring perceptual integration and attention in human and nonhuman primate. We expect the results to have a major impact on our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying numerous brain-related phenomena.
Toward Non-Invasive Ultrasound Surgery – TONUS
Only 25% of patients with primary or secondary liver tumors are candidates for curative treatment. Focused ultrasound has the potential to be a new therapeutic option but major innovations are needed. The challenge of the TONUS project is to implement these breakthrough innovations and to demonstrate the feasibility, efficacy and preclinical safety of this new treatment in order to be able to start using it in clinically.
Ecological Fitness of Light Color Acclimation in Marine Cyanobacteria: a Cross-Scale Analysis – EFFICACY
Global change is predicted to have numerous consequences on ocean properties and notably on ‘ocean color’, used by modelers to assess chlorophyll biomass at global scales. For phytoplankton cells, changes in ocean color are perceived as a modification of their light niche and trigger competition between species, resulting in dramatic changes in community composition. The EFFICACY project therefore tackles the question of the respective fitness of phytoplankton species to adapt to these changes.

Glacial--Interglacial variations of the carbon cycle induced by climatic changes in Himalaya – GI-NOAH
This project aims to clarify the climate sensitivity of the Earth system by recording the carbon burial (organic and inorganic) linked to the erosion of the Himalaya at the glacial-interglacial scale. We will apply mineralogical and geochemical studies on the active levee (0-100 ka) as well as the other quaternary levees cored by IODP Exp. 354 in the Bay of Bengal.
Agglomerated powders for thick ceramic coatings by solid-state dynamic spraying – CERASOL
The aim of the CERASOL project (ANR-19-CE08-0009) is to develop ceramic powders adapted to cold gas dynamic spraying known as “cold spray” process.
