Hydrothermal Molten Salts for High Mn(V) oxidation State Materials – HSM2

Submission summary

The (HSM)2 project proposes to develop a new synthesis process for the preparation of uncommon high oxidation state compounds, difficult to synthesize, for energy materials. The ambition of the (HSM)2 project is to extend the compositional range of the selected oxides and bring them at the forefront of materials science by exploring their unreported properties in the field of energy as catalysts for the photoelectrochemical water oxidation and also as new mixed ionic and electronic conductors (MIEC) for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer cells (SOEC). (HSM)2 will gather national and internationally recognized expertises in the fields of solid-state chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering and energy. (HSM)2 fully meets the objectives of the axis 2.1 "Sciences de base pour l’énergie" in the item "Matériaux & milieux innovants : compréhension, élaboration et caractérisations avancées" of the ANR 2021 call.
