CE47 - Technologies quantiques

Dissipation-engineered atom arrays – DEAR

Submission summary

This project aims at engineering collective dissipation in an atomic ensemble by tailoring its interaction with a resonant driving field. This control on collective spontaneous emission will allow to build a new kind of dissipative quantum simulator. We will use its control to suppress dissipation by engineering strong subradiance and explore how it can be used as a resource towards applications in quantum metrology or quantum communication. We will further explore how multiple excitations correlate with one-another and whether entanglement can emerge and be stabilized in a driven-dissipative many-body system.
