Energy efficiency in reactive distillation – SEDRE
The SEDRE project associates 3 complementary partners (LGC, CP2M and Processium). The aim of SEDRE is to develop an innovative reactive distillation process that integrates reactive distillation and heat-integrated DIstillation columns in the same apparatus. For this purpose, innovative catalytic column internals (ICCI) will be developed and characterised. A very innovative geometry made possible by the additive manufacturing and catalytic functionalization of their surface are the main challenges. Then, through a technical and economic benchmarking study, we will position our process in relation to the existing one. The final objective is to show that with our technology, energy savings of 30% compared to conventional reactive distillation are achievable.
