évaluation de la réglementation française en matière de financement de la vie politique – FIVIPOL

Submission summary

This research project aims at performing a large assessment of the French public regulation of politics financing. Based on a pluridisciplinary team, the main objectives consist in analysing the influence of the current finance regulation on the electoral process by raising five relevant issues : (1) a better understanding of financing strategies implemented by both political parties and candidates during electoral campaign; (2) the organization of political parties and their relationship with both voters and officials; (3) the selection of political representatives; (4) the electoral behaviours and (5) the connection between voters and their financial involvement on French politics. The evaluation rests on an empirical approach with two dimensions. First, a quantitative perspective will compute data on both campaign expenditures and political parties finance. Second, a qualitative perspective will fill up the previous approach in interviewing some financial administrators of French political parties. All these objectives are expected to take an active part into the international scientific diffusion by publication in peer-reviewed journals and communication in conferences. Moreover such a research project is intended to put the politics financing issue on the French social science's agenda.
