This proposal aims at questioning the mobilization of the military in the fight against the coronavirus, designated as an "invisible enemy". The objective of the project is twofold.
On the one hand, it analyzes the decision-making process within the political institutions of the State and the Army Chief of Staff. In this respect, it proposes to question the organization of the resources mobilized by the French military institutions on the basis of interviews with officers of the Armed Forces Health Service (Service de Santé des Armées) and the decision makers (office of the Minister of the Armed Forces, office of the President of the Republic).
On the other hand, this research project proposes a comparative approach to the mobilization of the army against the epidemic in three European countries (Italy, Germany, Switzerland).
Finally, this proposal questions the representations, perceptions and attitudes relating to the epidemic, focusing on the reception of the recourse to the militaries by the population. It will propose an opinion study to evaluate the reception of military support measures in the health crisis in the French population.
