Hybrid Perovskite-HTM as an Intermediate Layer for solar cells – HyMatIL
Perovskite solar cells (PSC), despite a better efficiency than Silicon technology, have a major drawback in the use of a doped hole transporting material (HTM). Spiro-OMeTAD, one of the most efficient, proves to be expensive and the use of dopants causes stability problems, limiting the development of PSC. HyMatIL objective is to conceive new HTM and new architecture of PSC in which a hybrid pervovskite-HTM layer is inserted in the device in order to improve the organic-inorganic interface, to favour charge carriage and to increase the device stability without using doping agents. Indeed, passivation of the perovskite surface and surface defects by this hybrid layer will enable improving cell photovoltage and stability against moisture, oxygen and gold diffusion across the layers. The new HT, based on carbazole or phthalimide, functionnalized with arylamines that act as charge carriers, will be synthetized after up to 5 steps with good yield.
