Study of signal transduction mechanisms through investigation of receptor conformational changes – ARCHITECT
It is crucial to understand the structural bases of membrane receptor function and to link the receptor conformational changes to specific cell responses. In particular, to develop therapeutics with an increased beneficial effect and less side effects, it is necessary to determine how ligands (hormones and neurotransmitters) activate / inactivate their receptor targets and what are the associated cellular signals.

The loss of control in bends (including roundabouts and road junctions) is common largely because of the complexity of PTW dynamics and the intrinsic instability of such vehicles. The MAIDS 2004 study showed that about 30% of all PTW accidents occur in bends or at road junctions. One can estimate, therefore, that loss of control in bends accounts for more than 50% of single-vehicle accidents. In 2012, in France, more than a third of all PTW fatalities occurred in bends (248 killed).

Synergy_T2SS aims to decipher the structure and function or the pseudopilus - the dynamic motor of type II secretion system, and that in three model bacteria.The current models of the secretion mechanism - «piston« and «archimedes' screw« predict different pseudopilus dynamics and interactions with the secreted substrates. We aim to test these prediction using integrative approaches, and to propose a unified and experimentally validated model of type II secretion mechanism.
