The aim of this project is two-fold: To establish clearly the poxvirus replication mechanism and to provide high-resolution structures of the key players in this process: the DNA polymerase holoenzyme and the helicase-primase. This work will give insight into the poxvirus DNA replication, which shows a different organisation than previously described ones. On the long run the structural information will provide a breakthrough in the structure-based design of new drugs against orthopoxviruses.

The project aims at developing diagnosis and prognosis tools for three railway rolling stock components (air conditioning or HVAC, brakes and doors). This will make it possible to give, in real time, the time-to-failure, which constitutes an improvement of the conditions of maintenance realization. Moreover, the project will bring knowledge about the ageing of the studied equipments as well as some solutions to the maintenance planning problem.
Stratospheric Dynamics and Variability : Understanding and Solutions to persistent model biases – StraDyVariUS
Climate models and numerical weather models now include the stratosphere (altitudes of 15 to 50 km) and often also part of the mesosphere. However, there are still several key features of the stratosphere's dynamics and variability which models still fail to reproduce accurately. The project uses theory, observations and models to better understand the fundamental processes involved and pave the way for an improved modelling.
The IPANEMA project wants to develop non- and semi-parametric and high-dimensional inference for structural econometrics models. The inference will be based on inverse problems techniques. While these techniques have been introduced in econometrics since the beginning of the 2000’s, there are still many open questions and a big gap between theoretical inference methods and the practical implementation of them in applied works.
