The French National Research Agency (ANR) launches in partnership with the French armaments procurement agency (DGA), the second edition of the ASTRID-Maturation programme "Specific support for research works and innovation defence: Maturation and Development". This programme is entirely funded by the DGA and is implemented by ANR.
ASTRID-Maturation is a dedicated programme to support the development of scientific work done in the framework of ASTRID, Exploratory Researchs and Innovations (REI: programme managed by the DGA until 2010 that preceded ASTRID), thesis funded by DGA and projects of engineering schools under DGA supervision. This dual-use programme (applications should interest both civil and military) is one of the 40 measures of defence pact SMEs.
The ASTRID-Maturation programme aims at :
This programme, at the border line between upstream research and technological research, is complementary to RAPID and upstream studies programmes of the DGA (as far as military applications are concerned) and other civilian supporting programmes (competitiveness clusters, FP7 and Horizon 2020, Technology transfer acceleration companies (SATT)...).
ASTRID-Maturation is open to all types of enterprises. However, in order to promote innovation in SMEs, the participation of at least one company in this category is needed in a project. Scientific work done in initial research works must have been successfully completed before the end of 2015.
The grant awarded to the projects, whose duration must be between 2 and 3 years, is limited to € 500 k.
The appelsprojetsrecherche.fr portal centralises all information on calls for proposals and calls for applications from ADEME, ANR, Inserm including ANRS, Anses and INCa. It provides a simplified access to upcoming and ongoing calls, giving a greater visibility to funding opportunities. Following their closing date, the calls remain published for a few months.
