Joint Programming Initiative ”More Years Better Life” Call for research proposals 2020 EWG Equality and Wellbeing across Generations

Equality and Wellbeing across generations is launched by the Joint Programming Initiative "More Years Better Life" JPI MYBL) is a pan-European intergovernmental initiative gathering European countries and Canada to jointly coordinate demographic research.

The call invites interdisciplinary contributions from consortia, which should consist of scientists from at least three participating countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Latvia, Norway, the United Kingdom, Spain, Canada and France. This call aims to support policy in reducing inequality in the face of demographic change.

The Call seeks proposals for research which will improve our understanding of how demographic change is altering the implicit contract between generations and how policy can ensure that change reduces inequality instead of increasing it.

The call addresses three themes:

• Income and Wealth;
• Caring responsibilities;
• Social and Political participation

The call Equality and Wellbeing across Generations offers an opportunity for all SSH communities to form interdisciplinary combinations and contribute to a better understanding of demographic change affects society. In addressing these topics, we expect proposals to pay particular attention to cross-cutting issues of gender, cultural background and socio-economic background, all of which have a major bearing on inequalities. Proposals should consider the inclusion of one, two or all three of these issues in their research as an absolute requirement. Electronic proposals must be submitted on https://www.ewg-call.org/ exclusively. No proposal submissions submitted directly to ANR will be eligible.
