ANR has teamed up with the ERA-NET Cofund SusAn to launch its first joint transnational call for proposals designed to fund innovative research projects in sustainable animal production. The European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) Cofund Sustainable Animal Production Systems – SusAn – will fund research aimed at providing Europe’s citizens with sufficient, healthy and safe food, safeguard natural resources (especially land and water), and reduce fossil energy dependency and environmental impacts, whilst address societal concerns. SusAn will hit upon several societal challenges and Horizon 2020 themes including sustainable agriculture, environment, resource efficiency and Europe in a changing world.
The SusAn consortium consists of 37 partners from 23 European member states: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UK.
This co-funded call for research is open to transnational research proposals that use systems and interdisciplinary approaches to address multiple objectives from the following three research areas:
Consortia should submit cross-cutting research proposals which bear upon all three areas and build on the sustainability triangle of economic competitiveness, social acceptability and environmental protection.
Funding will be awarded for three years maximum. ANR will only fund selected projects from French partners.
