Call for proposals Science with and for Society - Innovative Ambitions - SAPS-RA-AI 2023

This specific, interdisciplinary and non-thematic call for projects, of the "Research-Action" type, is inspired by the Quebec programme AUDACE. It aims to support projects with an atypical and original character that explore new territories of knowledge by relying on new collaborations between different fields of research, in order to respond to new ambitions, questions and needs in close relation with society.

Innovation is expected and will be assessed at three levels

  • in the ability of researchers to go beyond the foundations, knowledge and practices that govern their respective fields of research, to break with established frameworks and standards, to take a fresh look at complex and multidimensional phenomena;

  • in the co-design, co-construction and co-realisation of truly integrated interdisciplinary projects, which go beyond the simple juxtaposition or complementarity of competences and disciplines, and develop, in order to tackle a research question or solve a problem, a collaboration and/or a novel approach;

  • in the transformative potential of these projects, in their capacity to produce new knowledge and concrete solutions with a measurable impact on society, whatever the field (scientific, technological, educational, associative, economic, cultural, artistic, etc.).

The projects submitted must meet the following conditions

  • Correspond to a "Research-Action" type objective, i.e. target the acquisition of knowledge with an innovative application of the results and achievements expected within 12 to 24 months following the award of the funding.

  • Composition of the consortium: it must include at least :

    • two laboratories attached to research and knowledge dissemination institutions or organisations falling within the scope of the ANR's FR and from two different disciplines and at least one of the five fields covered by the ANR's scientific departments

    • AND a civil society organisation falling within the scope of the RF of the ANR (company, NGO, foundation, association, professional organisation, actor of the social and solidarity economy, cultural operator, others...).

  • The aid requested by the sole French beneficiary of the aid or all the beneficiaries must be less than or equal to €150,000 (including environmental costs).

  • The duration of the project must not exceed 24 months.
