The French National Research Agency (ANR, France), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e.V. (DFG, Germany) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST, Japan), signed in April 2019 in Tokyo the agreement of a Call for projects on artificial intelligence (AI), a priority theme for these three countries.
There has been remarkable progress in AI research in recent years. The progress of AI brings a tremendous opportunity, though at the same time it can potentially violate individual privacy and right to informational self-determination. Co-funded by ANR, DFG and JST, the call aims to support research projects of excellence in this field for which France, Germany and Japan share a common vision, and to develop scientific collaborations. Based on the added value obtained through the collaboration of the three countries, we aim to present the direction of future digital economy and society through technical progress in AI research to strengthen trust, transparency and fairness as well as improving performance and investigating AI methods.
In order to encourage transnational approaches, research consortia should include at least one partner from each country.
The application file must include the following three elements:
Scientific project officer: Fabien Guillot fabien.guillot(at)anr.fr +33 1 73 54 81 97
Scientific program advisor: Frédéric Precioso firstname.lastname@example.org +33 1 73 54 82 01
The appelsprojetsrecherche.fr portal centralises all information on calls for proposals and calls for applications from ADEME, ANR, Inserm including ANRS, Anses and INCa. It provides a simplified access to upcoming and ongoing calls, giving a greater visibility to funding opportunities. Following their closing date, the calls remain published for a few months.
