Call for Expressions of Interest: Innovative and Operational Solutions in the field of Industrial Risk Management in a dense urban environment: AMI-S.I.O.M.R.I

On September 26th, 2019, a fire broke out in the Lubrizol factory, 3 km from downtown Rouen. Following this event, a 22 km black smoke plume spreads over the city and its urban agglomeration: toxic volatile organic compounds and oily residues accompanied by a strong smell of hydrocarbons have spread in the nearby urban fabric degrading in particular the surrounding farms.

This industrial accident has raised questions around public health, soil pollution, agriculture and urban planning that concern citizens. Aware of the importance of finding answers, a multidisciplinary approach to industrial research or experimental development would make it possible to better understand and grasp all the societal challenges inherent in a sustainable city.

In this perspective, the ANR, following a request from the Normandy region, is launching a call for expressions of interest called: Innovative and Operational Solutions in the field of Industrial Risk Management in an urban and dense environment (S.I.O.M.R.I). This AMI will identify the main lines of a future call for Flash projects answering scientific questions raised by this industrial disaster.

All scientific communities in France, all local authorities, private partners as well as end users in connection with this theme are invited to participate.

You will find all the information concerning the submission procedures in the text of the Call for Expressions of Interest S.I.O.M.R.I.
