Year-3 of BEYOND saw 2 General Assemblies and 6 internal training webinars, the creation of a new working group to elaborate radar diagrams of pathosystems based on 8 axes guiding the development of indicators for epidemiological surveillance, and the first student from the project to obtain their doctoral diploma. The data catalog portal, beyond.biosp.inrae.fr, is populated with links to numerous data bases and calculation tools including the tropolink Webapp (tropolink.fr) that is being used by project participants and other researchers outside of BEYOND. A multivariate space-time Stochastic Weather Generator has been developed, with a shiny interface in progress for user-friendly access. All goals for the development of molecular detection tools are nearly achieved. For text-mining, a vocabulary corpus was built and annotated; the automated methods for extracting information were validated. A data warehouse for flavescence dorée was implemented via completion of methodology accounting for scalability of multi-model data warehouses & logical modeling. Supervised machine learning methods to account for spatial heterogeneity and imbalance were developed and deployed on an environmental database that we updated to estimate risk of Xylella fastidiosa. BEYOND scientists made 10 oral presentations at international meetings and 17 oral presentations at national meetings and were prominent at the 12th Int. Congr. of Plant Pathology where they chaired 2 special topic sessions, 1 satellite workshop, 1 round table and gave 3 oral presentations including an invited keynote. Three BEYOND participants taught and gave a key note at the international summer school on Biology of Vector-borne Diseases at the University of Idaho, USA. The first graduate level training course organized by BEYOND, « Bases de l’Epidémiosurevillance », was held in Nov. 2023 at SupAgro, Montpellier. The project website moved to a new platform (https://beyond.paca.hub.inrae.fr/).
