Résumé

EIPHI is a ?agship program aimed at strengthening excellence and international weight of HER landscape in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in its distinctive area “Advanced materials, waves & smart systems”, thereby matching the industrial & socioeconomic strategy of BFC Region. EIPHI’s main features are cross-disciplinary training built upon basic research and high-tech in 5 domains: Physics, Maths & Applications; Energy; Computer Science; Smart Systems & Structures; Material & Chemical Sciences. The Graduate School also seeks innovative pedagogy (project-based learning, skills development…), internat. experience for its students by switching all its training in English & mobility through a worldwide partner network, and also promotes research-pushed industrial innovation. From 2018, EIPHI has federated FEMTO-ST, ICB, IMB, and fostered graduate programs of internat. ambition within 10 Master tracks and 2 doctoral schools. As a major step, 4 other world-renowned research institutes (ICMUB, ImViA, UTINAM, LmB) joined the GS in 2021, adding 4 Master tracks & 2 Erasmus Mundus and enlarging EIPHI to >1100 sta? and > 800 graduates. Such dynamics involves 3 univ. & 3 Eng. Schools regionally, and the French CNRS. EIPHI also coherently interacts with >25 France2030 programs (NCU, CMA, Labex, Equipex+, PEPR…) and leans on 20 high-tech centres/platforms. As a strong asset since 2021, EIPHI has also inspired InteGrate, a further PIA SFRI program gathering EIPHI with 2 GS dedicated to the other BFC distinctive areas (Environment, Food; Medical care), thus strongly structuring the regional HER space. EIPHI has however su?ered a partial freeze of its funding from Nov.22 to Feb.24 due to institutional con?icts between some hosting institutions, meanwhile passing its mid-term evaluation successfully. Thanks to a political agreement that has recently transformed ComUE UBFC into two novel institutions (EPE), the GS is now running again and will pursue its transverse action upon these 2 EPEs.
