Amiqual4Home (A4H) is an equipment of excellence (EquipEx) in the field of Ambient Intelligence. It is funded by the French Research Agency within the Investissements d’Avenir Program (PIA). The project offers a platform for research, innovation and experimentation with human-centered services based on the use of interconnected digital devices capable of perception, action, interaction and communication. It is composed of: (1) prototyping workshops, (2) experimentation facilities, and (3) mobile tools (e.g., minikits) for observing human activities in real world conditions.
The Amiqual4Home equipment in Montbonnot includes an instrumented apartment for in-situ test and deployment of smart systems and services, and an open Building Management System (BMS) deployed in a 3 story office building extensively equipped with sensors for capturing environmental conditions.
Amiqual4Home is a platform for research and innovation in the field of Ambient Intelligence, but provides services for social robotics, home automation, IoT, and energy management as well. It is open to both academic and industrial users.
The Amiqual4Home platform can be used for:
- Prototyping customized appliances, smart cameras, or other connected objects
- Usage experiments in the instrumented apartment or office space
- Experiments integrating smart objects with the open BMS
- Development of “in the field” experiments using custom minikits
The Amiqual4Home Living labs and workshops were inaugurated the 5th of June 2015. Since then, the equipment of Amiqual4Home served about 20 academic institutions, 14 companies and is used by about 100 students per year.
Amiqual4Home has also participated in the creation of the Domus instrumented apartment of UMR LIG, the Predis smart energy platform of G2ELab , and the FabMSTIC fablab on the Campus of Saint Martin d’Hères created by UMR LIG and operated by the Pôle Math STIC of the CoMUE UGA.
