Résumé de soumission

ASLAN kicked off in Sept. 2011 and the project reached full speed in early 2014. Achievements have been made in all the intended directions, as confirmed by the mid-term evaluation led by the ANR. This successful trajectory thus reinforced our ambition for the second phase (2016-2019), both in terms of impact and extension of the LabEx scope.

The RESEARCH activities have covered the intended scientific domains, goals, and actions. ASLAN is highly efficient, both as a catalyst boosting pre-existing research and as a trigger for new risk-taking initiatives. In the second phase, the LabEx also participates to the consolidation of resources on key topics. A preliminary bibliometric study shows that publications authored by ASLAN researchers since 2011 have already been cited more than 4,500 times. In terms of visibility, ASLAN has also co-organized several international conferences which have attracted more than 2,500 participants.

Numerous TRAINING actions have been organized. As an illustration, the thematic schools have gathered 600 attendees, coming from more than 30 countries. ASLAN also offers research mobility grants for students from Europe and outside Europe. These grants have allowed 16 students to spend a semester in ASLAN.

ASLAN has made VALORIZATION a priority. This is summarized by the motto “Towards healthy, educated and sustainable human societies”. The emphasis has been put on societal innovation and collaborations have been developed, notably in the areas of service, health, social cohesion and the associative and educational domains at the interface science/society. The ASLAN online visibility has been recently improved through Twitter and Facebook accounts. Last, ASLAN researchers have been massively present at science dissemination events: European Science weeks, European Researchers' Nights, Brain Awareness Weeks, etc. and ASLAN has been the organizer or co-organizer of several more specific events.
