Wearable Gas SENSors based on functionalized transition metal dichalcogenide nanosheets for the detection of NOx and CO – SEN-SCO

Submission summary

SENS-CO targets to develop new wearable gas sensors based on functionalized 2D materials such as MoS2 and MXenes and their heterostructures (MoS2/MXene) that will be able to detect sub-ppm-level NO2, CO, and CO2 pollutants, in a highly selective manner, in urban environments . 1) produce low cost solution processed TMD and MXenes materials for sensing application, 2) fabricate resistive gas sensor based on solution processed TMD, MXenes and TMD/MXene materials, that meet the requirements of urban air pollution monitoring, 3) to modify its surface properties with specific functional molecules to improve selectivity 4) integrate the sensor with microelectronics and wireless technology to develop an wearable toxic gas sensors and finally 5) evaluate its performances on urban environment, usable either as wearable sensor or located onto a mobile vehicle.
