Algorithmic protections against physical attacks – PROPHY

Submission summary

The rise of the internet of things increased the number of devices that use cryptographic primitives to communicate. These devices are vulnerable to physical attacks. The goal of this project is to secure cryptographic implementations from physical attacks. To reach this objective we want to study some algorithmic protections and prove their security in a well-adapted model. We focus on main physical attacks against cryptographic devices i.e. side-channel attacks and fault attacks. We aim at providing efficient new primitives with built-in protections. To obtain this result we want to encode the sensitive values and perform the operations on encoded values. The security analysis will be performed in a well-adapted theoretical model and in practice.
