The goal of this project is to make decisive progress in the integration of photo/piezo/electro-switchable molecules into nanodevices. To this end we will explore the potentialities of an innovative low-cost strategy based on the controlled electro-polymerization of robust switchable cubic complexes, that are functionalized with polymerizable groups. This approach, which provides a straightforward access to multifunctional (ultra)thin films on conductive and transparent substrates, also allows anticipating the nanomaterial integration into future hybrid electronic-devices. Two electrodes crossbar devices will be used to study the interplay between the diverse switchable properties of the cubic units and the conductive properties of the material. More specifically, we anticipate original memristive effect upon successive change of the cube electronic states, triggered by external stimuli.
