Accelerating CO2-Responsive Phosphines Discovery by Late-Stage Diversifications for CO2-Fixation Reactions – COOP

Submission summary

With global tensions, the end of easily accessible fossil fuel supplies and the looming threat of climate change, our societies are under pressure to develop new and sustainable chemical transformations to produce more efficiently complexes organic chemicals. Catalysis has an important role to pay in this area especially the development of ligands, which is key factor in enabling new transformations and fine-tuning the chemo- or regioselectivity in homogenous catalysis. In this project, we aim to shown how recent advances in transition-metal-catalyzed C–H bond functionalizations could change the synthetic scheme of phosphorous-based ligands and allow to design new catalytic tools for the CO2-fixation reactions via the formation of (enantiopure) carboxylic acids.
