Baryons at LHC as a window to New Physics window – BACH
BACH, b-Baryons at LHCb as a window to New Physics is project aiming at solving the puzzle observed in the rare b-hadrons. The
theory community pushed forward various scenarios able to explain the tensions observed in the data.
Until now, b-mesons were used almost exclusively at LHCb to conduct these measurement. Given that large amount b-baryons are
produced also at the LHC, we propose to use the decay of these particles to improve our knowledge of QCD in radiative decays, test
lepton universality and search for processes forbidden in the Standard Model. This project will also involve a participation to the
LHCb upgrade through to the development of the reconstruction of electromagnetic objects.
BACH wants to suggest a new approach to shed the light on the peculiar pattern observed in the data.
