Multimodal, accessible, numeric and artistic pedagogy – PANAM

Submission summary

The objective of PANAM project is to develop numeric instruments and a virtual library of resources, for musical and artistic pedagogy based on collective practices. The goal of this program is to create software and hardware tools, and innovative pedagogical contents for teachers and trainers. Three fields are targeted : mainstream education, music schools and handicap specialized institutions.

In order to be used in those various contexts, the focus will be on multimodal properties of the virtual instruments (gesture-sound-images) and on the sensitivity and diversity of the human interface devices proposed. The tools developed will have to make musical practices accessible to everyone, by making the notion of instrument evolve.

In order to proceed the project, which has been going on numerous years of experiences and pedagogical instruments, PUCE MUSE collaborates with the partners which have complementary capabilities. Therefore, the consortium is purposely multidisciplinary (computer science and acoustic engineer, pedagogy, psychology...) of method to consider the different aspects of programming (concept, development of software and hardware, elaboration of strategy for pedagogy, evaluation and validation of tools).

Besides on the fact that partners directly involves in the project, it is important to note that the decision of program will be done according with the several establishment with teaching purpose. More precisely these are two institutions which specialize in the situations of handicap.
