Design and Optimization of Collaborative Computing Architecture – DOCCA

Submission summary

We address the need for scientific methodology and optimal algorithms in P2P computing, and tackle the lack of practical P2P solutions for collaborative computing using unused desktop ressource within a large (possibly worldwide) private network. Our objectives are: - Leverage the pluridisciplinarity of the team to combine theoretical tools and metrics from the parallel computing community and from the network community, and to explore algorithmic and analytical solutions to the specific resource management problems of such systems. - Design a P2P architecture based on the algorithms designed in the first step and to create a novel P2P collaborative computing system.
